Mintz Levin's London office is conveniently located in the City of London at the heart of European commerce, so our professionals have easy access to the European Patent Office.  With an office in Washington, D.C., we also have easy access to the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Our London and U.S. offices work closely together in servicing client's needs in obtaining and enforcing the Intellectual Property rights in both the United States and Europe.  In particular, Mintz Levin offers a fully integrated European and United States Intellectual Property procurement service with our European and U.S. attorneys working alongside each other in order to coordinate the protection obtained for our clients.

We offer a single point of contact and coordination for both European and US IP procurement.  By way of a single instruction we will be able to initiate the filing of both your European and US patent applications, coordinated by one contact person.  Not only are the initial overheads eased for our clients by way of this service, but we are also able to offer a reduction in our docketing and filing fees since we need only enter the data once.  One-time entry of data reduces the possibility of error since now only one data entry has to be made rather than two separate data entries for each European and U.S. agent. 

Coordinated patent prosecution for both the United States and Europe is possible by way of a single coordinating person based in either our London or U.S. office.  In this way, it is possible to ensure that the maximum scope of protection available in each jurisdiction may be obtained having regard to the relevant prior art and particular requirements of each jurisdiction.  Working closely with our colleagues out of our network of offices we believe we are able to provide the highest level of service in procuring our client's Intellectual Property, yet because we are all of the same firm the ease of communication and familiarity with each other as colleagues promotes an environment in which we can communicate easily with each other without the need for formal instructing letters.  We believe that this not only will enhance the quality of service and patents that are granted on behalf of our client, but will be achieved at highly competitive cost.
