Mintz announced that Members Fred Hernandez and Ken Jenkins were named 2024 “Leaders of Influence in Life Sciences” by San Diego Business Journal (SDBJ) which recognizes individuals who are making significant contributions to the advancement of science, healthcare, and innovation in San Diego. 

Fred is Chair of the IP Division's Intellectual Property Prosecution and Strategic Counseling practice. He focuses his practice on patent prosecution and strategic counseling for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to early-stage and emerging growth companies, primarily in the medical device and medical technology fields. He also represents clients in the aerospace and consumer products sectors, and in snow and water sports. 

Ken is an intellectual property attorney practicing in the patent prosecution and counseling space.  He provides creative and carefully considered patent strategies designed to maximize patent portfolio value.  In addition to patent procurement, Ken counsels lenders and investors in assessing the value of patent assets through due diligence reviews, including validity analyses, freedom-to-operate analyses, and in-licensed technology investigations.
