The Approach
Mintz represents a clinical laboratory provider of complex pathology testing with a research program dedicated to advances in personalized medicine. In order to drive advances in care for metastatic cancer patients, the client wanted to create a comprehensive data repository of molecular profiling and clinical outcomes data for metastatic cancer patients, not only to evaluate the effectiveness of molecular diagnostics and molecular profiling-assisted cancer treatment, but also to serve as a resource for other researchers and scientists in the field.
The Outcome
Together, Mintz and the client established a collaborative data repository model where health care providers contributed valuable treatment and outcomes data and in turn obtained data access to support their own research. This arrangement incentivized participation and helped the repository to grow for the benefit of researchers and for patient care. Not only did the client establish a growing repository to support research efforts in this critical area of cancer care, but the client also established a repository model that it has used to create additional data repositories in other subspecialties.
