Mintz is hosting a webinar titled "Trends in Whistleblower Activity in the Time of COVID-19". The event will be moderated by Adam Sisitsky, with Mintz members Jack Sylvia, Megan Gates and Drew Matzkin participating as panelists.
The SEC’s Enforcement Division has reported a record number of whistleblower tips since mid-March, resulting in hundreds of new investigations being opened by the government. This reported upswing coincides with a dramatic increase in the number and value of reported whistleblower awards by the SEC. Now, more than ever, it is important that companies ensure compliance with federal regulations to mitigate the risk and high costs that oftentimes come with government enforcement actions. The webinar will discuss practical considerations and best practices for companies navigating internal whistleblower complaints, policy implementation considerations, and how to respond to and manage investigations initiated by regulators.
