Student loan debt in the United States totals nearly $1.7 trillion and grows over 6 times faster than the nation's economy. 44.7 million student borrowers are in debt by an average of $37,584 each. Many practitioners and debtors have come to believe that discharging student loans is nearly impossible. This program will explore how this conventional wisdom is a myth. Debtors' attorneys and new lawyers will be glad to hear of effective strategies on a local and national level from a diverse and experienced panel. The panel will discuss and review strategies, dischargeability standards, checklists, and case law.
Mintz Associate Kerime Akoglu will be participating in this upcoming panel discussion hosted by the BBA.
