To prevent the misappropriation of trade secrets – whether when negotiating a joint venture or to prevent employees from leaving with sensitive information— it is essential to first identify the relevant trade secrets and take reasonable measures to protect them. Many companies try to protect their trade secrets after they have been shared with a third party, which is often much too late.  This session will provide an overview of trade secrets and practical steps companies should take to develop a plan for protecting these critical assets.
