Mintz Member and Chair of the firm’s Energy & Sustainability Practice Tom Burton and Member Eric Macaux were quoted in an article published by Law360 on disputes related to the New England Clean Energy Connect project, an effort to build a $1 billion power line to ship Canadian hydroelectricity to Massachusetts. Mr. Burton and Mr. Macaux discussed some of the challenges of building large-scale transmission projects, the need for offshore wind and other projects to meet electricity demand in Massachusetts, and the importance of a multi-prong approach to achieve greater energy efficiency.
