Has Big Law Hit Peak Empathy?
Mintz Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer Narges Kakalia was quoted in The American Lawyer discussing the collective increase of empathy across law firms following the pandemic. Narges commented, "Mintz, has long taken the approach that if they are empathetic and understanding to the circumstances of their employees, they will tend to stick around... For some firms, there is not enough understanding of the limited capacity people might have from time to time... I think smarter firms recognize that not everyone is productive all the time... You can have economic prosperity while still being understanding of people in crisis who aren’t able to perform optimally."
