Leader of Mintz Health Law Practice Karen Lovitch to Speak at 2017 G2 Intelligence Lab Institute Conference
Karen Lovitch, a Member and Leader of the Health Law Practice at Mintz, will be a featured speaker at the 2017 G2 Intelligence Lab Institute conference. Ms. Lovitch’s panel, “Compliance Traps to Avoid,” will provide attendees the necessary guidance to recognize and avoid the most common and costly compliance issues in the key areas of diagnostic lab operations: reimbursements, and sales and marketing.
Ms. Lovitch counsels laboratories, diagnostic companies, and other health care clients on regulatory, transactional, and operational issues, including Medicare coverage and reimbursement, healthcare compliance programs, licensure and certification, and matters related to the anti-kickback statue, the stark law, and the federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act. Ms. Lovitch has successfully defended clients subject to state and federal investigations and certification surveys, Medicare and Medicaid overpayment and reimbursement appeals, and state licensure proceedings. She regularly counsels on compliance with the CLIA and state laboratory licensure laws, federal and state limitations on billing diagnostic services, and legal restrictions on sales and marketing activities. She has also served as regulatory counsel in a number of mergers and acquisitions involving laboratories and diagnostics companies.
The G2 Intelligence Lab Institute conference instructs participants on how to better navigate the unprecedented changes and shifting incentives by exploring the challenges facing laboratories and the health care industry. The conference takes place October 25 – 27 at the Hyatt Regency in Washington, D.C.
