Leading Renewables Tax Attorney Joins Mintz
Mintz is pleased to announce that Anne Levin-Nussbaum has joined the New York office as a Member. She advises clients on a wide range of U.S. federal income tax matters, with a particular focus in the renewable energy finance area.
Ms. Levin-Nussbaum represents sponsors, lenders and tax equity in financing residential, utility, and commercial wind and solar energy projects using flip partnership and other structures for allocating the investment tax credit, production tax credits, and depreciation. She also has extensive experience providing guidance and drafting tax opinions to establish "start of construction" and eligibility for tax credits and other incentives available for renewable energy assets. Her transactional experience includes closing numerous M&A transactions involving wind and solar projects in all stages of development, including setting up and advising joint ventures in connection with acquiring and selling renewable energy projects.
Prior to joining Mintz, Ms. Levin-Nussbaum’s tax background from her more than 25 years of experience at large international law firms included representing lessors and lessees in sophisticated domestic and cross-border leasing transactions involving power plants (coal, gas, geothermal, cogeneration), transportation assets, and other types of equipment. Her experience also includes asset-based finance transactions where she represented lenders and issuers in securitizations of leased assets.
“Anne has an outstanding reputation, and her substantive tax knowledge combined with deep industry experience further enhances our ability to serve the leading players in wind, solar, hydropower, energy storage, and other renewable energy technologies,” said Mintz Managing Member Bob Bodian. “She shares our values of collaboration and excellent client service, and we are very happy to welcome her to Mintz.”
