Los Angeles, CA – Mintz is pleased to announce that Managing Member of the firm’s Los Angeles Office Joshua Briones and Member Arameh Z. O’Boyle have been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s (LABJ) 2022 “Minority Leaders of Influence: Attorneys” list. The annual list recognizes minority lawyers in the Los Angeles region and their careers, practice, and successes they’ve achieved.
Mr. Briones is an experienced trial lawyer with a national practice. Clients look to Mr. Briones for his understanding of an array of industries and his extensive experience solving their most complex issues. He has received awards and national recognition for his innovative approach and specializes in high-stakes, bet-the-company litigation. In addition to this honor, the Daily Journal named Mr. Briones to its list of the "Top 100 Lawyers in California." He has served as lead defense counsel on over 550 alleged class actions in state and federal courts across the country. Under Mr. Briones’ leadership, Mintz’s Los Angeles office has grown sevenfold and developed additional capabilities in specialty practice areas. He has also led the way in promoting the firm’s diversity initiative and its commitment to community service out of the Los Angeles office. In his Minority Leaders of Influence profile, the LABJ highlighted Mr. Briones’ formative years as the son of immigrant farm workers, noting that “his hard work ethic at an early age was the fuel that helped him succeed later in life.”
In over 15 years of practice, Ms. O’Boyle has become one of the most sought-after attorneys that product innovators and manufacturers rely upon when faced with potential or actual product liability or consumer class action litigation. She represents businesses in a variety of industries including cosmetic, personal care products, medical device, pharmaceutical, over-the-counter drugs, food, retail, and electronics. In addition, she is active in Mintz’s robust diversity and community initiatives led out of the firm’s Los Angeles office. In her Minority Leaders of Influence profile, the LABJ called Ms. O’Boyle a “trailblazer” and noted that she was the first female partner in the firm’s growing LA office.
For coverage in the “Minority Leaders of Influence: Attorneys” issue, the LABJ accepted nominations from readers, the legal profession, and businesses throughout the region. From there, the publication narrowed down those considered to be particularly impactful on the legal scene, while serving as trusted advisors, along with maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.
