Managing IP names Matthew Karambelas and Carolina Säve 2021 Rising Stars
Mintz is pleased to announce that Managing IP has named Associates Matthew A. Karambelas and Carolina E.K. Säve Rising Stars in IP for 2021. This special publication recognizes up-and-coming intellectual property practitioners in private practice who have made material contributions to the success of their clients.
Mr. Karambelas is an experienced patent litigator who has represented clients and organized trial teams in cases spanning several Investigations at the U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. District Court actions, and appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has played key roles on ITC cases to successfully enforce patents, including for video streaming companies, microbiology companies developing unique methods of producing beneficial oligosaccharides, and for semiconductor companies like GlobalFoundries, against the largest semiconductor foundry in the world. In addition, Mr. Karambelas has significant experience in evaluating patent portfolios, offering clients useful advice on assessment and valuation of key aspects of their U.S. patent holdings.
Ms. Säve’s practice focuses on the protection of client innovations in the mechanical, electrical, and computer science arts. She prepares and prosecutes patents and helps to strategically develop and manage patent portfolios for global companies, academic institutions, and individual inventors located in the United States and in Asia. She also advises clients on patentability, freedom to operate, clearance studies, and due diligence. Ms. Säve has handled a significant amount of work in the automotive industry, aiding clients in obtaining patent protections for their cutting-edge advancements in autonomous vehicles, fuel cells, environmentally friendly technologies, battery systems, and transmissions. She also has experience in the fields of medical technology, with an emphasis on wearable or implantable devices and surgical instruments, network communications, and consumer products.
