Mintz Advised Mahaffey USA on its Sale to Sunbelt Rentals Inc.
Boston, MA – Mintz served as legal advisor to Mahaffey USA (Mahaffey), a leader of temporary and semi-permanent structures, in its sale to Sunbelt Rentals Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of the publicly traded Ashtead Group and one of the largest rental companies in North America. Mahaffey will retain its leadership and Memphis support center.
Mahaffey has been in business for nearly 100 years and has provided solutions for base camps for the military, warehouses and storage for clients needing on-site space quickly; site covers for the construction industry and production space for manufacturers. Customers include FedEx, Fluor, the U.S. Army, BP, Exxon, Ford, Toyota, Nissan and Pfizer.
“This is a proud day for the employees of Mahaffey,” said George Smith, President of Mahaffey USA, who will remain with the company to ensure a smooth transition. “Together we have built a business that attracted the attention of the country’s leading equipment rental company. We are appreciative of the help the Mintz team was able to provide in achieving this phenomenal outcome.”
