Mintz Advises Peak Resorts in Securing Key Regional Center Designation for EB-5 Program Participation
Mintz secured United States Citizenship and Immigration Services’ (“USCIS”) approval for Peak Resorts, Inc.’s application for the company’s proposed Great North Regional Center. This new privately managed regional center will serve as Peak’s exclusive EB-5 investment sponsor for future projects at its Northeast resorts.
“USCIS approved the regional center designation across state boundaries to encompass the geographical territory that tracks Peak Resorts’ strategic ski assets in the Northeast,” stated Douglas Hauer, Member and Chair of Mintz EB-5 Financing Practice.
Peak Resorts is a leading owner and operator of high-quality, individually branded ski resorts in the United States, operating mainly in the Northeast and Midwest. The resorts offer range of services and amenities including winter activities, such as ski and snowboarding, and summer activities, including mountain biking.
In addition to Mr. Hauer, the Mintz legal team included Debt Member Meryl Epstein, Litigation Member Laurence Schoen, and Member Adam Sisitsky, Co-Chair of the Securities Litigation Practice. Mintz has a national, multispecialty EB-5 Financing Practice that represents regional centers, developers and institutional investors and lenders across the U.S.
