Mintz Attorney Charles A. Samuels Receives Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers’ Chairman’s Partnership Award
Charles A. Samuels, a Member and Chair of the Consumer Products Safety Practice of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., received the Chairman’s Partnership Award from the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). Mr. Samuels was recognized at the organization’s annual meeting on April 27.
The AHAM Chairman’s Award recognizes significant contributions to the Association by non-member organizations, companies and individuals. The award is the highest honor AHAM can give to a non-member. Mr. Samuels is being recognized for his work as the organization’s general counsel and his numerous achievements throughout his 30 years of service to the home appliance industry.
AHAM is the trade association of the home appliance manufacturing industry with offices in the United States and Canada. Its members include the manufacturers of major, portable, and floor care home appliances and the companies who supply and service these manufacturers.
Mr. Samuels is engaged in a federal and international regulatory and legislative practice. He has been extensively involved in product safety, environmental, tax, health care, technology, and energy issues, and public finance legislative and regulatory matters for a variety of trade associations, corporations, local governments, and state agencies. As general counsel of the AHAM, Mr. Samuels negotiated and drafted the amendments to the Consumer Product Safety Act and the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act, and represents the appliance industry at international bodies dealing with safety, energy, ozone depletion, and global warming.
