Mintz Associate Crystal Lopez will be a featured speaker at the Women Diversity and Change Summit, a one-day conference held in Los Angeles on October 23 that will focus on exploring how to create lasting change for women and minorities in the legal profession.

Ms. Lopez will participate in a panel discussion titled “Dealing with Unconscious Bias and Discrimination,” which will address the impact of unconscious bias in a law firm environment. Panelists will discuss the types of unconscious bias to look out for, how to approach managers, peers and direct reports, and when an official approach is needed, among other topics.

Ms. Lopez focuses her practice on class action defense, with an emphasis on consumer fraud, data privacy, marketing, and compliance issues claims. She has defended corporate clients against class actions at all stages of litigation. Separately, Ms. Lopez has been deeply involved in the production of the Los Angeles office’s annual Women’s Event since its inception in 2017. The annual event features insights from successful women in business and law and is open to the members of the Los Angeles legal and business communities.
