The program is taking place December 2-4 at the DC Convention Center in Washington, DC.
Mr. Barmak’s presentation is entitled, “New Developments and Hot Topics for Employers in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.” In this session, he will discuss many judicial, legislative and regulatory trends and proposals at both the federal and state levels that employers in the Greater Washington, D.C. area need to be aware of.
The GWSPCA serves more than 3,000 CPA and Non-CPA members in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Founded in 1923, the GWSCPA has a special niche among CPA societies, serving as a more concentrated cross-section of business, industry, government, education and public accounting than can be found anywhere.
Mr. Barmak chairs Mintz national Employment, Labor and Benefits practice and is an experienced trial lawyer and advisor to businesses and their executives, in both the for profit and non-profit sectors. He has represented clients in complex litigation, including class and collective actions, involving employment discrimination, noncompetition agreement, trade secret and wage and hour issues, employment contract disputes, and other matters. He also regularly advises employers and their executives on a broad range of employment law issues, including personnel policies and best practices; reductions in force; and compliance with the employment discrimination, wage and hour, disability, leave, and other laws and regulations affecting the workplace.
