Mintz Attorney Dionne Lomax to Present American Health Lawyers Association Webinar
Dionne Lomax, a Member of the Antitrust Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will present an American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) webinar entitled, “Managed Care Mega Mergers, Part I: Antitrust Analysis.” The webinar is taking place on Friday, October 30.
Ms. Lomax and her co-presenters, Mark J. Botti, Partner, Squire Sanders and Joseph Miller, General Counsel, America’s Health Insurance Plans, will focus on the antitrust analysis of health insurance mergers. The webinar will provide an overview of merger enforcement in the health insurance industry, including perspectives on the evolving approach to market definition in insurance mergers. The panelists will also discuss the implications of new regulatory changes on the competitive analysis for health insurance mergers, including the Affordable Care Act, health insurance exchanges, and potential competition analysis.
Ms. Lomax’s antitrust and trade regulation practice includes counseling and representation in connection with merger and non-merger related activities, litigation, and matters before the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). She has been involved in antitrust matters spanning a broad range of industries, but as a former DOJ Antitrust Division Trial Attorney (in the Health Care Task Force Section), has particularly deep experience in the health care industry. Ms. Lomax has represented large health systems, major medical associations, large multispecialty physician groups, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other commercial arrangements. She has counseled various clients in responding to antitrust investigations conducted by the DOJ, FTC, and various state antitrust agencies.
