Geoffrey G. Why, a Member of the Communications Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will participate in a panel discussion at the “Being Asian in America: Professional Challenges and Solutions” symposium presented by the Harvard Students Asian Pacific Coalition. The forum will take place on Saturday, April 4 at Longfellow Hall, Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Massachusetts. 

Mr. Why’s panel is entitled, “Asian American Mentorship and Networking.”

“Being Asian in America: Professional Challenges and Solutions” is a symposium that tackles issues related to professional development in the Asian and Asian American community. It will bring together leaders across different fields with students and the community to engage in focused panel discussions and workshops. The hope is that this symposium will provide knowledge of the challenges that Asians and Asian Americans face in the professional world and help participants take steps toward addressing those challenges.

Mr. Why has substantial experience in prominent policy and legislative issues affecting the cable, broadband, wireline, and wireless industries. Prior to joining Mintz, he served as the Commissioner (2009 - 2014) and General Counsel (2007 - 2009) of the Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Cable (DTC). In his role as Commissioner, Mr. Why directed all administrative, legal, and policy priorities for the department.
