Mintz Attorney Jeffrey R. Porter Appointed to MassDevelopment Board of Directors
Jeffrey R. Porter, a Member and Chair of the Environmental Law Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., has been appointed by Governor Deval L. Patrick to serve on MassDevelopment’s Board of Directors.
MassDevelopment finances, manages, creates and supports hundreds of projects generating investments and jobs across the Commonwealth, supporting economic growth and building a more secure and competitive economic future. The MassDevelopment Board is chaired by the Secretary of the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development.
Mr. Porter was appointed to the MassDevelopment Board because of his “experience in planning and the redevelopment of environmentally contaminated lands.”
He said of his appointment, “I look forward to using my twenty-five years of Brownfield remediation and redevelopment experience to help MassDevelopment improve our economic prospects, including in our most disadvantaged communities.”
Mr. Porter also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and as Vice Chair of the Conservancy’s Trustee Council, and as a Trustee of the Massachusetts Environmental Trust. He also serves on several Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection advisory panels including the Bureau of Waste Site Clean Up Advisory Committee.
Mr. Porter lives in Wayland with his wife, Jill, and their two children.
