Mintz Attorney Jeffrey R. Porter Elected Vice-Chair of Nature Conservancy Trustee Council
Jeffrey R. Porter, a Member and Chair of the Environmental Law Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., has been elected Vice-Chair of The Nature Conservancy Trustee Council. Mr. Porter will serve a one year term as Vice-Chair followed by a one year term as Chair.
Mr. Porter is also a member of the Board of Trustees of The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts, having served five years as Vice-Chair and then Chair.
The Nature Conservancy protects ecologically important lands and waters around the Globe for nature and people. The Conservancy and its more than 1 million members have protected nearly 120 million acres worldwide.
The Nature Conservancy’s Trustee Council is a catalyst for improving collaboration and engagement among The Nature Conservancy’s volunteer leaders world-wide and also facilitating communication between those volunteer leaders and the Conservancy’s executive team and Board of Directors.
For twenty five years Mr. Porter has been advising clients regarding complex environmental regulatory compliance and permitting issues. Mr. Porter also currently serves as a Trustee of the Massachusetts Environmental Trust and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, having served as Vice Chairman and Treasurer. He also serves on several Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection advisory panels including the Bureau of Waste Site Clean Up Advisory Committee.
