Mintz Attorney Rebecca A. Lee to Receive 2017 Achievement Award from CREW Boston
Rebecca A. Lee, a Member of the Real Estate Practice of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., has been selected as a 2017 Achievement Award winner by CREW Boston for her role in the development of the One Greenway project in Boston.
CREW Boston's mission is to bring together women professionally engaged in commercial real estate and related service industries in order to promote the advancement and parity of women in the commercial real estate industry.
Ms. Lee, along with her colleagues on the One Greenway project team, will be honored with the Networking Award, which recognizes a deal or transaction that exemplifies the spirit of CREW Boston by demonstrating the success and value of networking.
Ms. Lee served as the lead on the One Greenway project, coordinating a large inter-disciplinary team of lawyers, engineers, architects, lenders, and equity investors. She led the permitting and closed the ground lease, debt and equity financing for this mixed-income project in Boston’s Chinatown area. The building, which has 99 affordable apartments, and a large new open space available to the public in this densely populated part of Boston, has been built on “reclaimed” former highway right-of-way land of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
“We are thrilled that Rebecca is being recognized for her exceptional work with Boston’s One Greenway project,” said Daniel O. Gaquin, Co-Chair of the Real Estate Practice. “This accomplishment speaks to the depth and breadth of Rebecca’s practice and to her ability to coordinate a complex project with multiple collaborators to bring this project to fruition.”
Ms. Lee represents corporations, developers, lenders and nonprofit organizations in a range of real estate matters, including financing, leasing, the procurement of entitlements, property dispositions, condominium creation, site acquisitions and assemblages, and related tax incentive transactions. She has extensive experience relating to land use and development permitting in the Greater Boston area. Ms. Lee previously served as Chief of Staff/Special Counsel to the Director at the Boston Redevelopment Authority, where she was responsible for policy development, overseeing development reviews, negotiating acquisitions and dispositions, and representing the agency in financing transactions.
Ms. Lee will be recognized at the CREW Boston 2017 Achievement Awards Dinner taking place April 26 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston.
