Richard G. Gervase, a Member of the Intellectual Property Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., has been named a 2015 Deal Maker of the Year by Finance Monthly Magazine.   Mr. Gervase was recognized in a special awards edition of the magazine published on December 22, 2015.

Finance Monthly’s Deal Maker awards acknowledge and reward excellence in corporate finance transactions completed in 2015. The Deal Maker Awards recognize corporate finance specialists, lawyers, bankers, deal transaction support, entrepreneurs, asset based lenders, private equity professionals and award Deal of the Year, Acquisition of the Year, Investment Deal of the Year, MBO/MBI/IBO of the Year, and Sale of the Year.

Mr. Gervase was selected for this honor by Finance Monthly’s research team and dedicated judging panel for his representation of ImmunoGen in their $200 million non-dilutive royalty transaction with TPG Special Situation Partners.

A registered patent attorney, Mr. Gervase has extensive experience structuring and negotiating a wide variety of technology transactions, including stock and asset acquisitions, strategic alliances, joint ventures, and collaboration agreements.  Since 2002, he has represented both investors and royalty holders in the structure, negotiation and valuation of royalty stream monetization transactions involving more than 40 pharmaceutical and biological products.

Mr. Gervase also advises investment banks in the assessment and valuation of patents and other IP assets and performs IP due diligence in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and collaborations, and underwritten public offerings involving life sciences and technology companies.
