Mintz Attorney Tyrone P. Thomas to Present at Council of Independent Colleges 2013 Presidents Institute
Tyrone P. Thomas, an attorney in the Employment, Labor & Benefits Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will be speaking at the 2013 Presidents Institute held by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). The meeting will take place January 4-7 in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Mr. Thomas’ presentation is entitled, “Presidential Contracts: End-of-Term Considerations.”
The CIC’s Presidents Institute is the largest annual meeting of college and university presidents in the country, bringing together the chief executives of independent colleges and universities to explore practical approaches to the major issues faced by campus leaders. The theme of this year’s Institute is "Catalysts for the Common Good."
Mr. Thomas, who practices in Mintz Washington, D.C. office, advises boards, presidents, and senior executives of institutions of higher education and nonprofit associations on terms for executive compensation. He frequently provides counsel regarding best practices for compensation, benefits, incentive plans, and post-employment covenants for executive contracts. He has also prepared deferred compensation plans, performance incentive programs, and separation agreements for corporate and nonprofit entities.
