Mintz Attorney Tyrone P. Thomas to Speak at Executive Leadership Academy
Tyrone P. Thomas, a Member of the Employment and Education Practice Groups of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., is speaking at the closing seminar of the 2016 Executive Leadership Academy (ELA) presented by the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI), the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). The closing seminar is taking place June 20-22 in Washington, DC.
Mr. Thomas will discuss presidential contracts in his presentation and specific issues that arise in a first-time presidency. The presentation will also address high-profile issues that affect presidential contracts, such as executive compensation, external activities, and dispute resolution and management.
The ELA is a year-long program that helps prepare highly recognized provosts and vice presidents to become successful presidents. The program includes two national seminars, readings, webinars, individualized experiential activities, and mentorship opportunities.
Mr. Thomas advises boards, presidents, and other senior executives on terms for employment and consulting agreements. In the course of his practice, Mr. Thomas has advised on executive employment arrangements involving over 200 academic institutions, including both public and private universities. He is also a national adviser on legal issues in sports, and has advised on matters concerning intercollegiate athletics over 15 years.
