Mintz Continues Expansion of Private Equity Practice and New York Office with Addition of Andrew Hulsh as Member
Mintz is pleased to announce that Andrew Hulsh, a leading private equity attorney with a particular focus on renewable energy and life sciences, has joined the firm as a Member in its New York office.
“Andrew brings to Mintz his versatile and highly regarded talents in several core areas, including private equity, renewable energy, and M&A,” said Mintz Managing Member, Bob Bodian. “Andrew is trusted counsel to sophisticated clients, and his addition to the firm provides our clients with yet another highly respected and accomplished attorney to help them navigate their most important issues. We are delighted that Andrew has chosen to join us.”
Mr. Hulsh is a trusted advisor and sought-after attorney who advises leading private equity and venture capital sponsors, and publicly held and private companies, in a broad spectrum of U.S. and international transactions. He has significant experience advising clients connected to and on deals involving renewable energy, life sciences and health care, technology, clean tech and telecommunications, among other industries.
Mr. Hulsh’s transactional practice includes representing financial sponsors and their portfolio companies, strategic acquirers and other investors in connection with U.S. and cross-border M&A buyout transactions, growth equity investments and other investment transactions. He regularly represents publicly-listed and privately held companies based in the United States, throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia, and in Israel in connection with strategic M&A transactions, joint ventures and other transactions. Mr. Hulsh has also represented issuers, underwriters, and placement agents in capital markets transactions involving more than 100 initial and secondary public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities.
Mr. Hulsh also has an active investment funds practice involving the representation of both established and emerging private equity and venture capital fund managers. Additionally, he counsels emerging companies in connection with capital-raising transactions involving the issuance of debt, equity, and hybrid securities, as well as joint ventures, licenses, incentive compensation arrangements, and other commercial matters.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hulsh was the co-leader of the North American private equity practice of a leading international law firm. He is a regular contributor to top-tier news outlets, has presented at more than 50 conferences globally and has written a number of published articles relating to private equity, M&A, board fiduciary duties and asset management.
Mr. Hulsh’s arrival is just the latest milestone in the firm’s continued commitment to growing its New York presence and Private Equity practice. Last year, the firm relocated its New York office, taking up residence at 919 Third Avenue, to expand its potential footprint in New York City to up to 175 attorneys and to continue to provide best-in-class support and service to clients. And, just last month, the firm opened a Toronto office with Michael Akkawi, a prominent private equity and fund formation attorney. Mintz now has a total of more than 600 attorneys based in its Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Toronto, San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco offices.
