Mintz Earns Top Score in Corporate Equality Index for 13th Consecutive Year
Receives 100 percent rating on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual scorecard for LGBTQ workplace equality
Mintz once again received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. For the 13th consecutive year, Mintz satisfied all of the criteria and earned the designation of a CEI Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
“At Mintz, diversity and inclusion is a key aspect of our strategic plan,” said Tyrone P. Thomas, Member, Chair of Mintz’s Diversity Committee, and Co-chair of the Sports and Entertainment Practice. “Achieving this recognition from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for more than a decade is a testament to our continued commitment to support the success and opportunities for advancement for all our employees.”
The 2020 CEI survey evaluated more than 1,000 companies and top law firms on detailed criteria including non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, accountability around LGBTQ diversity and inclusion, public commitment to LGBTQ equality and responsible citizenship.
Mintz is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the firm and the legal profession. The firm’s Diversity Committee helps develop policies and initiatives that impact recruiting, mentoring and, ultimately, retention of diverse employees. The firm also maintains and supports several active affinity groups, such as Mintz Pride, MIATTY (Mintz’s Minority Attorneys Group), and the Women’s Initiative, to provide peer to peer support and mentoring.
