Mintz Expands Health Law Practice, Attracting Former General Counsel of Partners HealthCare
Brent Henry, Who Oversaw Legal Affairs for the Largest Health Care System in New England, Joins as a Member in Boston
Brent Henry, the former Vice President and General Counsel of Partners HealthCare, the largest health care system in New England, has joined Mintz as a Member in the Boston office. The addition of one of the most prominent members of Boston’s health care sector further strengthens the firm’s Health Law practice at a time of increasing demand for sophisticated legal services.

At Partners HealthCare, Mr. Henry led the legal, internal audit, corporate compliance, and business ethics departments. Partners HealthCare ─ with its vast teaching, research, health care delivery, and insurance network ─ has more than 70,000 employees and $12 billion in annual revenue.
Previous to Partners HealthCare, Mr. Henry was Vice President and General Counsel of MedStar Health, a hospital system serving the Baltimore/Washington corridor. In addition, he served as Deputy Administrator of the New York City Human Resources Administration, where he directed the New York City Medicaid program, and as Director of Business and Governmental Affairs for the Greater Southeast Health Care System in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Henry is Vice Chair of the Princeton University Board of Trustees, a trustee of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, a Past President of the American Health Lawyers Association, and has served on several hospital boards and health care advisory committees. Mr. Henry has taught health care law at Howard University and University of Maryland. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and holds a Master’s degree in Urban Studies and a JD from Yale.
