Mintz Members Daniel Pascucci and Joseph Dunn Named Co-Chairs of Cross-Border Asset Recovery Practice
Mintz is pleased to announce that Mintz Members Daniel Pascucci and Joseph Dunn have been named Co-chairs of the Cross-Border Asset Recovery Practice. These newly established positions build on their team’s 15-years of experience in international asset recovery through its deep expertise in cross-border investigations, fraud-related litigation, and creditor rights and bankruptcy practices.
“Joe and I are looking forward to the opportunity to expand on our deep bench of asset recovery experts as we continue to help clients identify and capitalize on creative opportunities earlier in the enforcement process,” said Mr. Pascucci. “As business becomes more globalized and traditional borders continue to blur, clients we work with have increasingly recognized the tremendous value of proactively managing the complexities of conducting global investigations and developing sophisticated recovery strategies to minimize loss and attain maximum recovery.”
Through its inter-disciplinary expertise and strategic enforcement tactics, the newly-dedicated Cross-Border Asset Recovery team will continue to address complex money-laundering and asset-sheltering schemes to reveal assets hidden around the globe. The team has extensive experience in managing all stages of the asset recovery process and offers a full suite of services from comprehensive asset investigation tools to litigation of fraudulent conveyances, alter ego liability and RICO claims, and, ultimately, the seizure and recovery of assets on behalf of clients.
“Formalizing Mintz’s considerable asset recovery expertise made sense in light of changes in the marketplace,” added Mr. Dunn. “In recent years, clients facing complex cross-border collection issues have recognized the value of engaging our team early on to help build enforcement strategies long before a judgment is obtained. We have responded to this market demand by broadening and deepening the tools we bring to the investigation and ultimate litigation.”
The Practice already boasts a wide-range of existing clients and successful judgments including a $20 million settlement for Tatung Company, a digital consumer product manufacturer, a more than $140 million arbitration award following a Eurobond default, and a full recovery for a defrauded U.S. investment fund following an offshore asset recovery case involving multiple governmental agencies.
Managing Member of Mintz’s San Diego office, Mr. Pascucci has developed unique expertise in global asset recovery and is a recognized authority on helping clients recover debts and investment losses fraudulently laundered off-shore and hidden in renowned privacy and tax shelter nations.
Mr. Dunn has a broad-ranging litigation and restructuring practice drawing from his significant experience with complex creditor rights litigation, bankruptcy and corporate reorganization, and his focus on asset recovery, judgment enforcement and litigation in the insolvency arena.
