Mintz Members William W. Kannel and Daniel S. Bleck to Speak at SMITH’s High Yield Municipal Bond Conference
William W. Kannel, Section Head of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice, and Daniel S. Bleck, Member of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will speak at the High Yield Municipal Bond Conference presented by SMITH’s Research and Gradings. The event is taking place September 29-30 at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, CT.
Mr. Kannel will discuss current challenges facing Puerto Rico, including high unemployment and an enormous debt burden, and the constitutional complexities and restructuring challenges involved in addressing these issues. Mr. Bleck will explore emerging trends in the continuing care retirement community sector, including pre-packaged bankruptcy restructuring and the benefits of such an approach.
Mr. Kannel’s practice focuses primarily on commercial law, workouts, and corporate reorganization. He has represented various institutional lenders, indenture trustees, bondholders, and other creditors, debtors, and trustees in all manner of insolvency proceedings in courts throughout the United States. He has substantial experience in all phases of bankruptcy litigation, practice, and case management from both the debtor’s and creditor’s perspective.
Mr. Bleck specializes in insolvency, workouts, bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights. He represents bondholders, indenture trustees, debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, insurers, and bankruptcy trustees in all aspects of Chapter 7 and 11 proceedings as well as advising clients on out-of-court debt restructurings. His practice encompasses a diverse range of industries including health care, retail and manufacturing.
