Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. announced that Tara Corvo has been named Chair of the firm’s Communications Section.  Ms. Corvo is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

With more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Corvo counsels and represents communications companies in connection with federal and state governmental matters, as well as transactions and litigation. Her expertise encompasses matters such as cable and broadband regulation, net neutrality, network access, OVD competition issues, and compliance with the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 and the related FCC rules for accessibility of advanced communications services and equipment. In addition, she assists clients with transfer of control issues in the purchase and sale of systems, and advises them in retransmission consent and program carriage disputes before the FCC and the courts.

Ms. Corvo succeeds Howard Symons, who is returning to the public sector to join the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to serve as Vice Chair of the Incentive Auction Task Force.

Ms. Corvo earned her J.D., with high honors, from Duke University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Government and Modern European Studies from Cornell University. She serves as the Washington office’s coordinator for community service activities, as well as the firm’s Co-Chair for Professional Development.
