Mintz Now Among Fastest Growing Law Firms in Bay Area
Intellectual Property Attorney Paul Davis Joins San Francisco Office as a Member
Now among the fastest growing law firms in the Bay Area, Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. has made another strategic addition to its San Francisco office. Paul Davis, formerly of Goodwin Procter, has joined as a Member in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice – marking the fifth Member to join the office since March.
“Paul will be the ninth partner to join our San Francisco office,” said Robert I. Bodian, Mintz Managing Member. “He is yet another example of our ability to attract well-respected lawyers with robust practices in strategic areas who want to be part of what we’re building in this market,”
“Paul’s background and experience, particularly in the life sciences and medical device arenas, make him a natural fit for our national intellectual property practice as well as our West Coast offices, which have significant bench strength in these increasingly active areas,” said Paul Churchill, Managing Member of the firm’s San Francisco office.
Mr. Davis has more than 25 years of experience working with Silicon Valley area technology companies in sectors including: medical device, electrical engineering, photonics, networking, ecommerce and telecommunication, focusing primarily on U.S., international and national phase patent prosecution and strategic counseling services. His background includes intellectual property litigation as well as providing strategic advice on building patent portfolios, drafting and negotiating licensing agreements, technology transfer agreements, nondisclosure and consulting agreements and the management of large, complex patent portfolios. Prior to joining Goodwin Procter in 2008, Mr. Davis was a shareholder in the Silicon Valley office of Heller Ehrman, where he chaired the Patents & Trademarks and Life Science Practice Groups.
A graduate of San Jose State University, Mr. Davis earned his law degree from Santa Clara University. He is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The Daily Journal recently named Mr. Davis one of the Top 25 IP Strategists in California.
