Mintz Re-Elects Robert Bodian as Managing Member

Mintz announces that Robert I. Bodian, has been elected to a sixth three-year term as Managing Member. Under Bodian’s leadership Mintz has broadened and deepened its practice offerings, expanded its geographical footprint, increased opportunities for attorney collaboration, and significantly improved financial performance.

Since Bob began leading the firm in 2009, Mintz’s annual revenue has increased by 130%, reaching $645 million in fiscal year 2024. Profit per partner has grown by 150% to over $2.1 million, and revenue per lawyer has nearly doubled to reach $1.2 million. As a result, the firm has advanced its position on The American Lawyer’s annual ranking of largest US law firms by profit, advancing 38 spots from 93 in 2009 to 55 in 2024, making Mintz one of the fastest growing firms in profitability.

Bodian attributes Mintz’s growth to a number of factors including a revamped approach to origination credit which led to improved collaboration, an increasing focus on strategic growth areas such as life sciencesprivate equitytechnology, and high-end litigation, and the opening of its Toronto office last year, which has enabled the firm to deliver a unique set of U.S./Canada cross-border capabilities to clients. Bodian is also particularly proud of recognition the firm has received for client service and diversity initiatives.

“I couldn’t be more optimistic about our future,” said Bodian, who already is the longest serving Managing Member in the firm’s 91-year history. “We have excellent people who put our clients first every day, we’re trusted by thousands of the world’s most innovative companies and their investors, and we have the right strategy and processes in place to scale and continue achieving successful outcomes for our clients.”

To support increasing demand from clients, Mintz has continued to bring on top talent, including the addition of a record 22 new lateral Members in 2023. Most recently, the firm welcomed a nationally recognized group of life sciences patent litigators based out of Los Angeles and a team of leading cybersecurity and data privacy litigators in Boston.

In addition to his role as Managing Member, Bodian maintains an active litigation practice. He has received numerous awards for his client service and leadership including being named by Law360 as one of the “Top Ten Innovative Managing Partners” and receiving the “Outstanding Ally” Diversity & Inclusion award from Chambers. He also received the New York Law JournalDistinguished Leader” award and was named a “Client Service All-Star” by BTI Consulting Group. Bodian has also been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for “Bet-the-Company Litigation,” Chambers USA for New York – Litigation: General Commercial, and one of the “500 Leading Litigators in America” by Lawdragon.

Upon conclusion of his current term Bodian is expected to maintain his litigation practice as well as moving to the role of chairman where he will continue to be materially involved with the strategy and direction of the firm.
