Mintz Recognized As Top 20 Patent Prosecution Firm by Intellectual Asset Management Magazine
Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. was recognized as one of the 20 highest-quality patent prosecution firms in the country by Intellectual Asset Management magazine in its May/June 2016 edition, based on the quality of patents issued by the firm for its clients.
The magazine contracts Ocean Tomo, a highly-regarded source of patent data and analysis, to produce the list. Ocean Tomo uses proprietary algorithms that assess the quality of patents issued in the preceding three-year timeframe.
Firms are initially selected based on patent issuance volume over the three years, and are then compared against each other based on the quality of patents their attorneys have prosecuted. Mintz’s work for SAP, Hyundai and KIA earned the highest scores among the firm’s clients.
Mintz’s patent practice comprises more than 60 attorneys and technology specialists who handle patent prosecution matters for clients in most life sciences and high technology fields, including the automotive, biotechnology, data management, financial services, medical device, pharmaceuticals, and software industries. Among the team are 32 professionals with PhDs and an additional 20 with technical masters’ degrees. The practice is one of the largest and most recognized patent prosecution groups inside a full-service firm in the country.
A number of the firm’s Patent Prosecution leaders have recently been recognized in leading legal and IP publications:
- Managing Intellectual Property magazine’s “IP Stars”: Lisa Adams; Peter Corless; Bill Geary; Fred Hernandez; Ken Jenkins
- IAM’s Top 1000 Patent professionals: Pete Corless; Ken Jenkins
