Boston, MA – Mintz is pleased to announce that Michael T. Renaud, Chair of the Intellectual Property Division, and the firm’s International Trade Commission (ITC) Practice have been shortlisted in the 2023 edition of Managing Intellectual Property’s (MIP) Americas Awards. The awards recognize the “remarkable achievements and developments” of firms, individuals and companies impacting the IP sector over the past year.
Mr. Renaud has been shortlisted for the third consecutive year for Massachusetts Litigator of the Year. He is one of six leading IP attorneys across the state named to the prestigious shortlist based on his work over the last twelve months. Mr. Renaud is an IP litigator and patent strategist who helps clients protect and generate revenue from their patent holdings. He has led teams to success in the International Trade Commission, at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, in U.S. Federal District Courts, and at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is recognized as one of the World’s Leading IP Strategists by Intellectual Asset Magazine (IAM), appearing in its Strategy 300 Global Leaders guide for the last three years, and repeatedly in its Strategy 300 and Patent 1000 publications. Furthermore, he is annually included in leading attorney lists produced by MIP and Chambers USA.
Additionally, the firm was recognized in the ITC category. Recently, Mintz was acknowledged as one of the most active and high-performing ITC law firms in the Patexia 2023 ITC Intelligence Report, which provides a comprehensive overview of the best-performing and most active ITC Section 337 attorneys and law firms. The annual report listed Mintz as the No. 15 best-performing law firm representing complainants or respondents overall and the No. 4 best-performing law firm representing complainants. The firm was also ranked among the top 25 most active law firms representing complainants or respondents overall and the No. 4 most active law firms representing complainants out of a survey of 200 ITC law firms representing complainants. Furthermore, out of a survey of 2,558 ITC attorneys representing complainants, Mintz attorneys comprised 20% of the 50 best-performing – and 45% of the 20 most active – ITC attorneys representing complainants.
Mintz’s IP Practice boasts an accomplished team of patent litigators with the knowledge of and experience with the ITC staff attorneys and Administrative Law Judges who are critical to success.
