In March, Mintz announced that it was expanding into Canada, to further bolster its global practices in life sciences, private equity, capital markets, and pensions and employment.

The founding team of the firm’s Toronto office included Mitch Frazer, Cheryl Reicin, Michael Akkawi, Eric Foster, and Dr. Lee Johnson. Since then, Mintz has added Partners Matthew Atkey and Brad Tartick, Special Counsel Bernard Kwasniewski, and Of Counsel Matthew Imrie. The firm will continue to grow the office with strategic hires, with a goal to have 20 attorneys by the end of April, 50 over the next 18 months, and 75 within three years.
