BOSTON – Mintz is pleased to announce that Bankruptcy & Restructuring Chair, Bill Kannel, is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from Smith’s Researching & Grading.

Bill is a nationally recognized bankruptcy attorney with extensive experience in corporate and municipal reorganizations and debt restructurings both in and out of court. He represents creditors and debtors across a wide range of industries throughout the country in all phases of distressed debt negotiations, bankruptcy litigation, and distressed asset acquisitions. Bill is also recognized as one of the leading attorneys in the nation for his work representing bond trustees and bondholders in Chapter 9 bankruptcies and other governmental and municipal insolvencies.

According to Smith’s “each year, nominations to the ballot are made by a committee of portfolio managers from thirteen investment firms. The final ballot is sent out to 1,000 institutional investors for voting.”  Smith’s All-Star Team was founded in 1992 to provide recognition to the brightest analysts of the best investments in America: Tax- Free Municipal Bonds.

Bill will be honored at Smith’s All-Star Awards Program in New York City on December 6, 2023.
