Mintz is pleased to announce that Associate Charles A. Koech has been named to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Up & Coming Lawyers list as part of the publication’s 2021 Excellence in the Law Awards. This distinction recognizes the rising stars of the local legal community — Massachusetts attorneys who have been members of the bar for ten years or less, but who have already distinguished themselves. In addition to being honored at a virtual awards ceremony on May 13, Mr. Koech was recently featured in a special report.

Mr. Koech is a corporate attorney who draws on in-house experience with a global asset management company to advise clients in the financial services and other sectors, including private equity funds, on a broad range of legal, contractual, and regulatory issues. He has experience drafting and negotiating commercial and financial agreements and counseling clients on contractual disputes, compliance matters, and risk management issues.  

In his honoree profile, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly highlighted Mr. Koech’s past work experience as an Assistant District Attorney and as Vice President and Counsel at State Street, as well as his current role in Mintz’s Corporate Practice. As part of the Q&A, Mr. Koech discussed his biggest achievement as a lawyer to date, shared advice for new law school graduates, and offered thoughts on what makes a good lawyer. The profile also noted his community involvement including serving as a board member of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association.
