LOS ANGELES - Mintz is pleased to announce that Los Angeles Managing Member Joshua Briones was selected for inclusion in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2023 LA500 list for a fourth time. The LA500 celebrates the most influential leaders and impactful executives in Los Angeles who have demonstrated vision, creativity, innovation, and determination in the face of unprecedented challenges over the past year.

In addition to his role as Managing Member of the Los Angeles office, Mr. Briones has served as lead defense counsel on over 600 alleged nationwide class actions in state and federal courts across the country. He and his team have successfully defended many bet-the-company class actions that threaten a company's brand, reputation, business model and bottom line. A skilled negotiator, Mr. Briones has a long record of securing dismissals and extremely favorable settlements for his clients. He also serves on the firm’s Policy Committee.

In addition, Mr. Briones has more than twenty years of experience representing clients in complex business litigation involving anti-trust, trademark, trade secrets and copyright claims across a variety of industries including professional services, financial services, construction, aviation, medical device, manufacturing, energy, and technology (hardware and software).

Under Mr. Briones’ leadership, Mintz’s Los Angeles office has quadrupled and developed additional capabilities in specialty practice areas. He has also led the way in promoting the firm’s diversity initiative and its commitment to community service out of the Los Angeles office. 

Mr. Briones has been included on the Business Journal’s Minority Leaders of Influence several times, as well as the Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Lawyers list. Furthermore, he was recognized in the Business Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers in California. In 2021 and 2022, Mintz was named Organization of the Year at the Business Journal’s Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Awards.
