Mintz’s Kelly Frey and Lavinia Weizel Named 2021 Law360 Rising Stars
Mintz is pleased to share that Law360 has named Member Kelly L. Frey and Associate Lavinia M. Weizel to the publication’s 2021 list of Rising Stars, which highlights attorneys under 40 whose legal accomplishments transcend their age. Mr. Frey was selected in the Real Estate category, and Ms. Weizel was selected in the Insurance category.
Mr. Frey is a skilled litigator that advises clients on a broad range of disputes involving commercial real estate and government regulation. He has extensive experience litigating complex lease disputes, commercial evictions, permits/zoning appeals, tax abatements, property valuations, government investigations, and administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies.
Ms. Weizel’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation across a variety of areas, including insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes, securities and shareholder class actions, and probate litigation. She has experience advising clients in all stages of litigation in both state and federal court, from pre-litigation counseling and negotiations through discovery and depositions, dispositive motion practice and the appeals process. She is also active in the firm’s pro bono practice, focusing on representing survivors of human trafficking in post-conviction relief proceedings and providing legal assistance to income-eligible tenants facing eviction.
