Mintz’s Pedro F. Suarez to Present on Intellectual Property Issues as Part of Veteran-Owned Business Series
Pedro F. Suarez, a Member in the Intellectual Property Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., is speaking on intellectual property issues as part of a six-week series of presentations on veteran-owned businesses. Mr. Suarez’s session will take place on Tuesday, March 11 at Mintz’s San Diego office.
Mr. Suarez is a Lieutenant Colonel (retired) in the US Air Force Reserves. Along with Rusty Sailors of LP3, he will discuss the importance securing outside technology and intellectual property and offer advice for protecting ideas and technology investments.
This six-week program is designed for veterans pursuing their own business endeavors in all stages of development, from early planning to growing ventures. The series will feature veterans who have established successful legal practices at Mintz, other entrepreneurial attorneys, and professionals who provide counsel to start-ups and early-stage companies. Sessions are complimentary and open to anyone looking to start a new business or grow an early-stage company. Non-veterans are welcome to attend.
Mr. Suarez’s practice focuses on all aspects of patent law, including the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, the rendering of opinions on infringement and validity, patent monetization, IP due diligence investigations in M&A transactions, litigation, and client counseling, with an emphasis on software, wireless communications, semiconductors, image processing, medical devices, wireless medical devices, and consumer products. He has extensive experience in handling patent matters for emerging and global high-technology companies, and draws on his litigation experience to prepare and prosecute patents with an eye towards enforcement.
