Mintz’s Randy Jones Named “Top White Collar Lawyer” In California By Daily Journal For Second Consecutive Year
SAN DIEGO – Mintz is pleased to announce that Member Randy K. Jones has once again been selected as one of the Daily Journal’s Top White Collar Lawyers for 2022—the publication’s annual supplement of California’s premier white collar lawyers.
Among his recent work, the publication highlights Mr. Jones’s victory for the manager of a global digital advertising firm in a ten-count federal indictment on charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, and electronic mail fraud; a novel case that involved the first CAN-SPAM Act prosecution in the country.
The Daily Journal also notes Mr. Jones’s successful settlement for client Christina Griffin-Jones with the City of San Diego in a federal lawsuit challenging the San Diego Police Department’s cell phone seizure practices, and their prolonged seizure of Ms. Griffin-Jones’s cell phone. Of his efforts for Ms. Griffin-Jones, Mr. Jones told the publication, “I’m having a good time working on this side of the fence and trying to make a difference.”
Prior to private practice, Mr. Jones served for almost three decades as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, where he investigated and prosecuted numerous white collar, narcotics, immigration and violent crime cases. Ultimately, however, Mr. Jones said that he considers “Mintz home.”
Mr. Jones’s Daily Journal recognition follows recent honors for his exceptional legal acumen and client service, including: Best Lawyers in America, SuperLawyer by San Diego Top Lawyers, “Top 20 Lawyers of the Year” by California Lawyer, "500 Leading Litigators in America" by Lawdragon, “Top 25 Lawyers under 40” by the California Law Business Journal, “100 Most Influential Leaders” by Ebony Magazine and one of “San Diego’s Top Lawyers” by San Diego Magazine.
