Mintz’s Randy Jones Named “Top White Collar Lawyer” by Daily Journal
Mintz is pleased to announce that Member Randy K. Jones has been recognized as one of the “Top White Collar Lawyers” of 2021 by the Daily Journal, California’s preeminent legal newspaper. The exclusive list is based on clientele, experience, reputation, and success in the courtroom, among other factors.
The Daily Journal highlighted Mr. Jones’s career successes and current roster of cases including negotiating a favorable settlement on behalf of a former contract accountant for a biotechnology company in an investigation involving allegations of insider trading.
As for his upcoming trials, the profile notes his May 2022 defense of the manager of a global digital advertising firm in a ten-count federal indictment on charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, and electronic mail fraud; a novel case that involves the first CAN-SPAM Act prosecution in the country. The article observes “the indictment and its outcome could have a major impact on the digital marketing industry.”
Prior to joining Mintz, Mr. Jones served for almost three decades as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, where he investigated and prosecuted numerous white collar, narcotics, immigration and violent crime cases.
“Now as a defense attorney, I’m more a counselor at law,” Mr. Jones told the publication. “I help companies and individual solve business and legal problems and that gives me great fulfillment.”
