National Multiple Sclerosis Society Honors Bob Bodian with its Spirit Award
New York, NY – Mintz Managing Member Bob Bodian was presented with a Spirit Award by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) at the organization’s Dinner of Champions held at the Edison Ballroom in Manhattan on September 20. The award recognized Mr. Bodian’s dedication to the Society’s mission and his ability to inspire hope through resilience and perseverance.
Mr. Bodian—who was joined by Mintz colleagues, friends and family—was honored at the annual Dinner of Champions, which is NMSS’s premier gala that pays tribute to the vast network of generous corporations, organizations and volunteer leaders dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Mr. Bodian has been an active supporter of the Society since his mother's death from the disease in 1987. In addition to joining the Board in 2020, he hosts and participates in many fundraising events. Notably, he was awarded “Rookie of the Year” for the most funds raised by a new Bike MS team, for his ride to the Montauk lighthouse, and he and his wife, Jill, raised a significant amount of money for MS in 2011 by requesting that their wedding guests consider a donation to NMSS in lieu of a gift. Also, this year’s annual dinner is on course to set a fundraising record, with money still coming in.
In remarks at the Dinner of Champions, Mr. Bodian thanked NMSS for all of its efforts and his guests for their generous funding support. He also noted that the advances in MS research have had a material impact on the course of the disease.
Further to Mr. Bodian’s efforts, Mintz and its attorneys have actively championed NMSS for years through time, money and passion. In June, Mintz was recognized at the NMSS Boston chapter's MileStones Gala.
