Offshore Wind Projects at Risk Despite Wins in First Circuit
Environmental Law Chair Jeff Porter was quoted by Bloomberg Law in an article about litigation involving the Vineyard Wind project—the first commercially operational offshore wind project in the United States. The article raises that similar litigation could lead to death for certain projects due to the delays lawsuits are causing.
Jeff says, “Delay is a victory. Over the four years or so that these challenges have been going on, material costs went up, interest rates went up, and the economic viability of some of these projects decreased.”
