Raymond D. Cotton to Present at American Council on Education’s National Women’s Leadership Forum
Raymond D. Cotton, Vice President of Higher Education for ML Strategies, LLC and a Member of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will present at the 85th National Women’s Leadership Forum being held by the American Council on Education. The meeting takes place June 17-19 in Arlington, Virginia.
Ray’s presentation, which he will deliver on Wednesday, June 17th, is entitled, “Reaching an Agreement: Negotiating Your Contract.” One of the foremost legal experts in the field, Ray Cotton will discuss setting the president’s salary, performance bonuses, deferred compensation and spousal compensation.
The three-day leadership program is for senior-level women administrators who are seeking a college or university presidency, vice presidency or major deanship. In addition to Ray’s presentation, the program will focus on a number of topics including: developing an effective search strategy, media training, honing leadership skills such as fundraising, risk management and crisis response, among other topics.
Ray Cotton has represented more than 350 college and university presidents and boards of trustees. He is a frequent speaker on the programs of higher education associations. He is also a regular contributor to the Chronicle of Higher Education. He is listed in the 2012 – 2015 editions of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation in Washington, DC. Ray is also named to the list of Best Lawyers in America for Education Law 2013 – 2015.
