Raymond D. Cotton to Present at National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities Annual Meeting
Raymond D. Cotton, Vice President of Higher Education for ML Strategies, LLC and a Member of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will present at the 2015 National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities’ (NAICU) annual meeting. The meeting takes place February 1-4 in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Cotton’s presentation, which he will deliver on February 3 at 8:00 a.m., is entitled: Presidential Compensation 2015: Presidential Contracts and Compensation. One of the foremost legal experts in the field, Mr. Cotton will discuss setting the president’s salary, performance bonuses, deferred compensation, spousal compensation and post-presidential employment.
With more than 1,000 members nationwide, the NAICU serves as the unified national voice of private nonprofit higher education. Since 1976, the association has represented this subset of American colleges and universities on policy issues with the federal government, such as those affecting student aid, taxation, and government regulation.
Mr. Cotton has represented more than 350 college and university presidents and boards of trustees. He is a frequent speaker on the programs of higher education associations. He is also a regular contributor to the Chronicle of Higher Education. He was listed in the 2013 edition of Chambers USA: American’s Leading Lawyers for Business for Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation in Washington, DC. Mr. Cotton was also named to the 2014 list of Best Lawyers in America for Education Law.
