Six Mintz Members to Speak at 2016 IBA Annual Conference
Six Members of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. will speak at the 2016 International Bar Association (IBA) Conference. The conference will take place September 18-23 at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC.
Robert I. Bodian, Managing Partner of Mintz and Member of the firm’s Litigation Practice, will discuss the meaning of ‘independent law firm’ within today’s interconnected world on a panel with other international leaders from London, Argentina, and Brazil.
Richard R. Kelly, Co-Head of the International Practice, will co-moderate a session on lobbying and the growing role of the members of the legal profession within this arena.
Heidi A. Lawson, Co-Chair of the Insurance, Reinsurance, Investigations & Risk Management Practice, will discuss client-facing knowledge management (KM), and how firms can use KM to strengthen their relationships with clients in her panel.
Bruce D. Sokler, Chair of the firm’s Antitrust Section, will participate in a session that will explore the interplay between cartels and other forms of corrupt conduct.
Stephen M. Weiner, Chair of the Health Law Practice, will co-chair two panel presentations that will explore different countries’ approaches to providing their citizens with high-quality, comprehensive, and affordable healthcare through public and private mechanisms, and will moderate a panel specifically on these efforts within the United States.
Laura Bange Stephens, Practice Group Associate of the Insurance, Reinsurance, Investigations & Risk Management Practice, will speak on a panel that will analyze the results of the multijurisdictional 2016 Insurance Committee Substantive Project on Subrogation and Recourse.
