The State of Pay Transparency

Member Natalie Groot and Associates Talia Weseley and Danielle Dillon wrote an article exploring the state of pay transparency laws published by the Employee Relations Law Journal. In the article, the authors look at trends surrounding pay transparency laws and discuss the responsibilities they place on employers.

With pay transparency laws surging in the past few years and continuing to pop up around the nation, the authors explore the differences in the now 15 state laws: “Among other differences, there are myriad differences among the laws’ employee coverage thresholds, job posting requirements, and remedies, meaning employers must remain hyper-aware of any compliance obligations—some of which may be triggered by merely advertising a remote position that could feasibly be performed in states where the employer does not otherwise have a physical presence.”
