Veteran Commercial Real Estate Lawyer Joins Mintz
Mintz announced that Stephen MacDonald, a commercial real estate lawyer with a focus on acquisitions and sales, financings, and joint ventures, has joined the firm as a Member.
Mr. MacDonald has decades of experience in complex commercial real estate transactions, including purchases and sales, formation of joint ventures, mortgage and mezzanine financing, restructurings and workouts. His clients include institutional investors, lenders, developers, borrowers, private equity funds, pension funds and investment advisors. In the area of private equity, Mr. MacDonald is involved in the formation of opportunity funds, investment in funds, structuring of advisory relationships and representation of portfolio companies.

Mr. MacDonald has been a frequent speaker at conferences and bar association presentations on a wide range of topics, including real estate joint ventures, mortgage financings and workouts. Most recently, he served on panels for "Operating Partner Perspectives in Real Estate Joint Ventures," IMN Real Estate Opportunity Fund Conference, January 2012, and "Real Estate Joint Venture Issues," IMN Real Estate Opportunity Fund Conference, May 2011.
The move to Mintz reunites Mr. MacDonald with Robert Koen, who also joined from Mayer Brown last month.
